Our Team

I was born and raised in Greenvale District, Manchester, Jamaica. The community heavily influenced who I am today and sewn into every part of my being. I’m a proud Mom, Wife, Daughter, Granddaughter and Niece. It was my start in the community of Greenvale that has enabled my successes in life. It’s always been my dream to start a foundation that gives back to the community and that was largely inspired by the kindness and selflessness of my Grandmother Berdel Ricketts and my Mother Joy. So it was only fitting that I named the foundation after them “The Berdel Joy Foundation”. It’s a privilege and an honor to give back through the foundation to the community that they both loved. My hope through this foundation is to leave my mark on this world and to inspire others.  

Our main program coordinator Ms. Sovia Ricketts was born and raised in Greenvale District and is the daughter of Mrs Berdel Ricketts.

Born and raised in Greenvale District Ms. Shanice Bennett helps to facilitate our programs, she is also the Granddaughter of Mrs Berdel Ricketts
